When sound becomes overwhelming, attention slips, or language development is taking longer than expected, The Listening Program (TLP) addresses those challenges at their neurological source. Sound sensitivity, in particular, reflects a nervous system that processes ordinary sounds as threats, a pattern rooted in the auditory system that listening therapy can directly retrain. TLP is ABT’s neuroscience-based music listening therapy, using neuroacoustically modified classical and world music to build the auditory neural networks that drive auditory processing, attention, emotional regulation, language, and learning.
Delivered through the Waves Air and Bone Conduction Headphones in structured 15-minute sessions, TLP is used with children, teens, and adults across homes, schools, clinics, and hospitals worldwide, for auditory processing disorders, sound sensitivity, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing challenges, and learning disabilities.
TLP is built as a progressive system of four complete programs: TLP Spectrum, TLP Achieve, TLP Level One, and TLP inTime, each targeting a different dimension of auditory and brain development. A TLP Certified Provider matches the right starting point to the individual’s specific auditory and sensory profile and adjusts the program as the brain develops and responds.
Every person has innate potential for growth and development. The science of neuroplasticity confirms this: the brain forms new neural pathways and reorganizes existing ones throughout an individual’s lifetime, at any age and stage of development.
Realizing that potential requires the right conditions. The Doman family’s foundational work in brain rehabilitation established that meaningful neurological change depends on three factors: frequency, the consistency of stimulation over time; intensity, the degree to which the brain is engaged during each session; and duration, the length of time over which training is sustained. TLP’s structure reflects these principles directly: 15-minute daily sessions completed four to five days per week, across progressive programs that advance as the brain develops.
Alex Doman, ABT’s CEO and Founder, is a third-generation pioneer in this work, drawing on more than 75 years of combined clinical experience in brain injury rehabilitation and child development. His family was among the first to demonstrate clinically what neuroscience has since confirmed: that targeted, structured stimulation reorganizes the brain and improves its performance.
Numerous independent peer-reviewed studies have documented TLP’s effectiveness across auditory processing, sound sensitivity, attention, communication, and learning. Explore the Research.
What if you could improve your life by increasing your brain score?
You can… Take the TLP Brain Scale and assess yourself in 7 of the most impactful areas of brain performance. Executive Function, Creativity, Communication, Auditory Processing, Social & Emotional, Motor Skills and Stress Response. Then find clarity on how our music listening therapies can improve your life.
Many of us become stressed or uncomfortable because of sounds we are hearing, whether or not we are aware that it’s sounds that are making us feel frazzled. Science shows that negative sound exposure adversely impacts health, sleep, attention, learning, communication, listening, and more.
Fortunately, there is an easy and effective solution…
The Listening Program® SPECTRUM is a foundational program created for children and adults with sensory sensitivities who need therapeutic intervention. It’s also effective for those seeking less stress and greater wellness.
SPECTRUM promotes a healthier relationship with sound by training your brain with enjoyable music that is scientifically designed to change your brain’s neural networks. SPECTRUM can improve sound brain fitness and auditory processing, reduce sensory sensitivities, and help you find comfort and safety in your environment.
Featuring an extensive library of high-definition music recordings performed by the award-winning Arcangelos Chamber Ensemble, SPECTRUM is offered in Spatial Surround® sound. Its rich tapestry of sound features compositions by Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi, and Danzi.
SPECTRUM is arranged in four progressive frequency zones and stimulates different areas of the brain and their related functions during the course of your personalized listening schedule. The training emphasizes lower frequency music that supports social and emotional functions, motor coordination, stress response, sensory processing, and more.
Those who attain their goals and fully realize their potential develop their ability to focus, listen, learn, communicate, plan, organize, and manage time, all while increasing their skills, imagination, creativity, motivation, and persistence.
There is a practical and effective tool for success…Achieve is an intermediate- to experienced-level program developed for older children, teens, and adults seeking changes in learning, communication, and peak performance. Achieve increases mental performance by training the brain using motivating, evidence-based music. The music provides a “work-enhancing” effect to help people achieve better performance and operate more effectively in their career, at school, or in socializing and interacting with family and friends.
Featuring an extensive library of high-definition music recordings performed by the award-winning Arcangelos Chamber Ensemble, Achieve is offered in Spatial Surround® sound and provides a rich tapestry of sound featuring compositions by Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi, and Danzi.
Achieve is arranged in four progressive frequency zones, stimulating different brain areas and their related functions during the course of a personalized listening schedule. The training emphasis is on the middle to higher frequency music in the orange and red zones, supporting auditory processing, communication, executive function, creative expression, personal development, increased energy, motivation, musicality, and more.
To accommodate individual listener preferences, LEVEL ONE is available in two options: music only or music blended with beautiful sounds of nature. While many prefer to enjoy and focus on the engaging music, others, especially children, will benefit from the listening to music and nature sounds together.
LEVEL ONE includes an extensive library of high-definition music recordings performed by the award-winning Arcangelos Chamber Ensemble. Offered in Spatial Surround® sound, LEVEL ONE provides a wide variety of listening with compositions by Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi, and Danzi.
LEVEL ONE is arranged in four progressive frequency zones that stimulate different brain areas and their related functions during the course of a personalized listening schedule. Because training emphasis is well balanced across the zones, LEVEL ONE is adaptable for people of all ages, supporting social and emotional function, auditory processing, communication, executive function, creative expression, motor coordination, stress response, self-awareness, musicality, and more.
Rhythm increases awareness of the brain-body connection and improves brain health and functioning.
Children, teens, and adults can engage with the rhythm-based music of inTime to help stimulate rhythm awareness, focus, timing precision, and adaptive responses to stress, all of which supply your brain with the highest quality of stimulation it needs.inTime provides a personalized program of listening training and fun movement activities using body, drum, and voice. It features original pieces by musician and composer Nacho Arimany, whose distinctive blending of world music styles includes diverse percussion, string, and wind instrumentation. Orchestrated percussive rhythms and specific sound frequencies serve as the basis for a rich melodic and harmonic structure.
The beautiful and powerful world music of inTime was developed over the course of over five years by the multidisciplinary team behind The Listening Program® and was produced by occupational therapist Sheila Allen, composer and musician Nacho Arimany, and co-author of Healing at the Speed of Sound and founder and CEO of Advanced Brain Technologies Alex Doman.
