Following a successful trial at the Dubai Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled, the use of The Listening Program® (TLP) has been extended to all the 5 centers across the United Arab Emirates. TLP Certified Provider and Speech and Language Therapist, Amer Wedyan had previously trained in Dubai and ran the trial with students with autism and Down Syndrome gaining clear improvements in areas of listening and communication as well as motor and sensory benefits.
These benefits prompted the Ministry of Social Affairs for the UAE to offer TLP through all the other centers in the UAE and a TLP Certified Provider Training was organized for early 2014 with a further 10 Speech and Language Therapists completing the live course offered by UAE TLP Trainer Alan Heath.
These specialists from across the UAE Government Centers are now helping local students to gain the benefits possible from TLP under the guidance of Amer.
The implementation of TLP and the results gained prompted a visit from the Minister of Social Development from Jordan who can be seen here in the orange jacket with Amer to the left.
Students with a range of developmental delays and disabilities are now being guided through a program of listening and enjoying the communication, sensory and motor gains that come with TLP.
The use of The Listening Program® in the UAE is becoming well established as schools, further education colleges and other private clinics and learning centers have trained providers.
