The Listening Program® (TLP) is a neuroscience-based music listening therapy that helps veterans successfully reintegrate into civilian life following trauma.
TLP supports veterans to improve stress management, relaxation, mental acuity and general wellness by listening for 15-30 minutes each day to music protocols. The testimonies and clinical trials validate that The Listening Program works.
Many veterans face distressing problems with PTSD and stress.
The numbers are staggering and only 50% of veterans seek treatment
Report that stress has a decidedly negative impact on their physical health
Cannot sleep well at night due to stress
Resort to drinking alcohol to cope
“Joe” is a veteran with Parkinson’s, struggling with decreased communication, impaired gait and poor posture. After he completed a 20-week TLP Program, he was able to walk on uneven ground with his cane! His posture improved, he began making eye contact with others, in addition to initiating conversation.
“These results are making a tremendous positive impact in his life,” reports Gina Green, O.T. of the Cleveland Veterans Administration Military Clinic (VAMC.)
There are trials underway at the Cleveland VAMC, with clinically significant outcomes. In one trial, 100% of the veterans showed improvement in heart rate variability and increase in the function of the autonomic nervous system, to improve stress resilience in just 8 weeks. We are seeing a reduction in stress/burnout and depression as they listen to the music based treatment.
