The Listening Program® System and Coaching Back in School Sale The school year is getting harder. Keeping up should not take everything your child has. As the demands increase, the strain on listening, focus and staying regulated gets harder to miss. The Listening Program® is a neuroscience-based music listening therapy that trains the listening a school day runs on. Short daily sessions at home through Waves Air and Bone Conduction Headphones, guided by a certified provider. Ages 2 through adult. What parents describe is a day that costs less. Directions land the first time instead of the third. A loud cafeteria is survivable, homework takes less time, and there is still something left of your child by dinner. Save 10% on The Listening Program® System Back in School Sale ends Friday, October 9. See what's included Why now By now, the patterns are getting harder to miss. The pace is picking up, directions are getting longer, and more is expected independently. The children who were holding it together in the first weeks of school are beginning to show where listening, attention, regulation and processing are costing them more than they should. Your child is the same child they were in July. A summer schedule is quiet, loose, and mostly chosen. A school day is none of those things. It runs on spoken instruction in rooms full of other people, and it asks a child to hold and sort information for hours at a stretch. The demand changed, and the demand is what exposes it. Hearing happens on its own. Pulling one voice out of a loud room, holding a direction while noise keeps coming, telling apart two words that sound nearly the same: that is active work, and when it costs more than it should, a child spends the day slightly braced. The bill gets paid somewhere else. None of this resolves on its own, and none of it stays where it started. A two-year-old guessing at directions becomes a six-year-old guessing at spelling, becomes an eleven-year-old who has decided they are bad at school, becomes a fourteen-year-old who stops trying because trying has never worked. Calm and focus are the same problem seen from two sides, and they are what parents most often report changing first. The music is engineered to train listening and to settle the nervous system at once, so a child who is not braced against the room has focus left to spend on the lesson. This is the point in the year when most parents start looking for what else might help. Every week you start earlier is a week further along before the heaviest stretch of the year arrives. Where the training reaches Seven areas of brain performance, and where each one shows up in a school day The programs are original classical and rhythmic world music, recorded for this purpose and then neuroacoustically modified so the brain gets structured practice rather than background sound. Each fifteen-minute module warms up, trains, and settles again, so a listener is never dropped into fully modified music and never left there. Your provider works out which of these areas matter most for your child and picks the starting program accordingly. 01Auditory processingStruggling to follow speech in noise, missing directions, confusing similar words, or becoming overwhelmed by everyday sounds. Sound sensitivity and auditory processing challenges can affect attention, memory, reading, learning, and participation. 02Executive functionDifficulty getting started, staying focused, remembering what comes next, or finishing without constant reminders. Challenges with focus, attention, planning, and working memory can make schoolwork harder than it needs to be. 03CommunicationNeeding directions repeated, losing track of conversations, struggling to organize an answer, or having trouble finding the words to respond. These challenges can affect learning, memory, confidence, participation, and expressing needs clearly. 04Social and emotionalMissing social cues, misreading tone, struggling to join a group, or becoming upset when interactions go wrong. These difficulties can affect social skills, friendships, behavior, confidence, and feeling connected to others. 05Stress responseBecoming overwhelmed by homework, tests, transitions, noise, or a long school day. When calming and recovery are difficult, stress can show up as shutdowns, meltdowns, irritability, avoidance, or changes in behavior. 06Motor coordinationTiring quickly with handwriting, struggling with posture, timing, or coordination, or avoiding physical activities that feel difficult. These challenges can affect attention, classroom performance, confidence, and participation throughout the day. 07CreativityHaving ideas but struggling to express them through words, art, music, movement, or play. Creativity supports imagination, self expression, flexible thinking, curiosity, enjoyment, and the joy of learning. —All seven, one programEach core program trains across every area and goes deepest in a different one, which is why The Listening Program® System includes all four rather than asking you to pick correctly at the start.See everything that comes with it The proof 456 participants, the largest study of any listening therapy 456 participants, ages 5 to 50, tested before and after Auditory processing was measured with the SCAN, a standardized clinical test, across four subtests. All 456 participants improved on every one of the four, and each improvement was statistically significant. The authors classify the size of those improvements as large to very large. Reviewed by the Howard University Institutional Review Board and published open access. Read the full study. Do the changes last after the listening stops? This is the question we are asked most. The 2026 Children's Health study is the one that followed children after they finished, and it measured sound sensitivity directly. At the startSix children with autism scored in the Definite Dysfunction range for auditory processing on a standardized sensory measure. In practice that means everyday sound was distressing to them. When listening finishedFive of the six had moved out of the Definite Dysfunction range. Their sound sensitivity had measurably reduced, and parents reported less covering of ears and less distress in noisy places. Three months after stoppingEvery child who improved was still holding those gains. The sound sensitivity had not come back once the listening stopped. Pilot study: 6 participants, all boys, no control group, parent-reported alongside the standardized measure. Published in Occupational Therapy in Health Care and funded by Children's Health and UT Southwestern. ABT supplied devices at a discount. How quickly any individual child responds varies, which is what your provider tracks with you from the first session. TLP results What families described afterward Alongside the scores, the researchers recorded what families noticed at home. A few of those accounts: Meltdowns after school Used to get in the car at the end of each school day and have a complete meltdown. Afterward, she hops in and happily shares the highlights of her day. Ready to quit at 14 Was ready to drop out of school because he just didn't get it and everything was too hard. Afterward, he was thinking about his future and what he would do when he finished. A birthday party His parents sat in the sunshine with friends while he played happily with other children on a jumpy castle, amid all the chaos and noise. The family had never been able to do that before. Reading for pleasure Struggled to read. She can now pick up a book, read it, understand the story, and take herself into another world inside it. Reported in Butler, Schueler and Lucker (2020), International Journal of Listening. The researchers noted that alongside the measured test gains, participants were observed to be calmer and more settled, with reduced anxiety, greater confidence, better social interaction, and improved reading, spelling and speech. Individual results vary, and these observations were recorded by clinicians and parents rather than measured on a standardized scale. Alongside these: a controlled study of 36 children aged 7 to 10 in which inTime plus a neurodynamic program outperformed that program alone on rhythm, timing and motor planning, though not on memory. And a systematic review of nine TLP group studies by Vargas and Lucker (2016) in Occupational Therapy International, indexed in the ASHA Evidence Maps. Advanced Brain Technologies was founded in 1998 by Alex Doman, building on more than 75 years of clinical experience across three generations of the Doman family. Larger randomized controlled trials are still needed. One purchase, everything in it What comes in The Listening Program® System The programs, the headphones, and the device are yours permanently. Occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other clinicians who completed ABT's full certification. They choose the starting program, set the listening schedule for your child's age, set goals against what you are seeing at home, and change the plan when it makes sense to. This is not an add-on service. In the 456-participant study, every listening schedule was customized to the individual and adjusted based on how that person responded, and parents were taught to monitor it. Guided listening is the way those results were produced. All four core programs So the plan can change without another purchase. Spectrum for sensory processing and calm, often where the youngest and most sensitive listeners start. Achieve for communication and auditory processing. Sleep Genius is five hours of music, built from NASA-funded sleep research, that works on the sleep system itself. It is not sold as part of this offer. It is given with it. Developed with neuroscientist Seth Horowitz, Ph.D., from NASA-funded research into how the vestibular system, the balance organs of the inner ear, affects sleep. Four techniques are composed into the music rather than played alongside it: a tempo at resting heart rate, neurosensory algorithms the inner ear reads as gentle motion, binaural beats sequenced to follow sleep stages, and pink noise that slows to pull breathing down with it. Hearing is the one sense that stays on all night, which is why sound reaches sleep in a way most approaches cannot. One album on repeat runs from lights out to morning instead of fading on a timer. The complete five-hour program comes loaded on your music player at no extra cost. Play it through a speaker beside the bed or any comfortable headphones. The Sleep Genius product sold separately on our site is a different bundle with its own player and SleepPhones; here you are getting the music. Read the full science. Before commercialization, a practice-based comparison ran with a Los Angeles therapist whose patients had severe sleep problems. Of those given the music with the stimuli embedded, 77 to 80 percent reported sleeping better, while the group given the same music without them showed no significant improvement. This was reported in NASA Spinoff rather than a peer-reviewed journal, and was a practice-based comparison, not a randomized trial. NASA funded the underlying research but does not test or endorse commercial products. Sleep Genius supports sleep onset and quality. It is not a medical device or a treatment for a diagnosed sleep disorder. What it asks of you It fits the day you already have, and you will know early The two questions every parent asks before starting anything new: how much of my week does this take, and how long before I know whether it is working. 15 or 30minutes per session, once or twice a day, five days a week. Your provider sets which schedule fits based on your child's age, how sensitive they are to sound, and how they respond once they start. Nothing to set upthe music player arrives loaded and the headphones are in the box. Your first coaching session is scheduled after you order. Faster progressTLP is used alongside occupational therapy, speech therapy, tutoring, and school services, and nothing has to stop. In a controlled study of 36 children, adding inTime to an existing therapy program produced better results on rhythm, timing and motor planning than that program alone. Support by phone and email from the team that builds the programs. Before you decide Questions families ask us What ages is The Listening Program for? Ages 2 through adult. For a two to five year old, a provider typically starts with Spectrum on the gentlest schedule, a single 15-minute session a day. From around age 6 that often becomes two 15-minute sessions, and older children who can sustain focused listening may move to 30-minute sessions. Sessions run five days a week, and your provider sets and adjusts the schedule rather than you guessing at it. The 456-participant study included people from age 5 to age 50, and the gains did not differ by age on three of the four measures. What if my child will not keep the headphones on? This is the most common worry from parents of sensitive listeners, and it is what the starting point is chosen around. Spectrum is the gentlest of the programs and calms auditory sensitivity rather than demanding tolerance for it, which is why providers usually start a sensory-sensitive child there. The gentlest schedule is one 15-minute session a day, and a session can be shortened further while a child gets used to it. Waves are sized to fit a small child. Your provider builds the first weeks around what your child will actually accept and adjusts from there. Working out that starting point is a large part of what the eight sessions are for. Does this replace the therapy my child already has? No. TLP is used alongside occupational therapy, speech therapy, tutoring, and school services. In the research, participants continued their existing therapies throughout. Your provider can coordinate with the people already working with your child. How does the coaching actually work? Your first session runs 30 to 45 minutes by phone, and follow-ups run 20 to 30 minutes. Eight sessions across three months, weekly at first and then every other week. It is all remote, so where you live does not limit which provider you get. Your certified provider sets the starting program and schedule, watches how your child responds, and changes the plan when it makes sense to. These are occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists and other clinicians who completed ABT's full certification. How will we know whether it is working? At the first session your provider sets goals against what you are actually seeing at home, the specific things that made you look into this, and those goals get reviewed at every session after. So you are not waiting and wondering in silence for three months. If something needs to change, that is the conversation where it changes. How quickly any individual responds varies. What the eight sessions give you is someone watching it with you who knows what early movement looks like. Can more than one person in the family use it? Yes, and this is where the value tends to land for families. One System serves the whole household with no per-listener fee. A sibling who needs it in two years uses the same one. A parent who wants Sound Health for their own focus, or Sleep Genius at night, is using something already paid for. The four core programs cover different goals, so two children with different needs are not competing for the same program. Is this a subscription? No. It is a single purchase. No monthly fee, no renewal, no per-listener charge. Everything stays on the music player and belongs to your household with no end date, so a family that uses it across several years pays exactly what a family that uses it for three months pays. Can we pay for it over time? Yes, through Advance Care Card, an independent medical financing company. ABT does not offer its own financing and does not lend or extend credit. You apply online directly with them, it is free to apply with no obligation, co-signers are welcome, and there is no prepayment penalty. Up to 15 months interest free is available if you are approved, which puts $2,997 at $199.80 a month. Terms depend on your approval. Klarna is also offered at checkout. Because the system is over $2,000, Klarna’s four interest-free payments do not apply here, so you would be looking at their monthly financing instead, where the length and the rate depend on the plan you are approved for. If interest free is the priority, Advance Care Card is the one to start with. Want to find out how to get the best results?
