Listen to this account of the Venezuelan-born conductor Gustavo Dudamel, whose commitment to classical music as an engine of social change led him to work with El Sistema, Venezuela’s system of youth music education, and–after he became Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic–with the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA).
