Simple dietary changes may enhance cognitive performance
A small study of adults who added higher levels monounsaturated fats such as olive oil, nuts and avocados to their diets appeared to have better performance from the dorsal attention network, enhancing their overall cognitive performance.
Guy Hoffman, an assistant professor at Cornell University, studies human-robot interaction. He and Google are in the early stages of a project that uses a robot to watch YouTube clips alongside children with autism, to help these kids better understand social cues. He envisions a simple robot like this prototype named Blossom, that may be available in a kit to be assembled by a family, perhaps to eventually be handed down to the next generation.
Prof. Sandra Kooij, from the VU University Medical Centre in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, believes that ADHD and sleep issues may be interconnected, rather than two separate issues. She recently presented her findings at the European College of Neuropsychopharmacology Congress.
