It indicates that a review of current research findings shows growing evidence that “music is a relative strength of people with autism, including musical pitch perception, musical memory, and identification of music-evoked emotion….Taken together, findings reviewed provide evidence for music as a strength-based approach for ASD to assess reward and emotion response and as a powerful tool for intervention.”

Pediatric Feeding Group

There’s a new feeding group at Wichita State University Speech-Language-Hearing (SLH) Clinic. It’s a 12-week program that works to build confidence in children who are picky eaters, need to gain weight, etc. The children are being encouraged to experiment with a much broader variety of foods, using play-based and evidence-based strategies.
