Sheila Allen is a licensed occupational therapist who specializes in sensory processing and is particularly interested in the relationship between sound,  movement and behavior. A long-standing appreciation of the value of sound and music in fostering change and supporting function is integral to her clinical practice, product development, teaching, consultation and study.

Co-founder and co-director of Pediatric Therapeutics, LLC, a pediatric therapy center in Chatham, NJ, Sheila works with children and adults in her clinical practice and via telepractice, and collaborates with schools, hospitals, and professionals of varied backgrounds in creating programs, and models for intervention and research. A creator and producer of inTime, a music-listening method rooted in original rhythmic music that emphasizes rhythm, sound frequency and beat-based activities, released by Advanced Brain Technologies, Ogden UT in 2014, Sheila is also a member of the teaching faculty, product development team, and scientific advisory board of Advanced Brain Technologies. She presents and teaches internationally, supervises occupational therapy fieldwork students, and taught as an instructor at The Bank Street School, NYC.

Sheila holds a BS in Occupational Therapy from Utica College of Syracuse University and a MA in Psychology from Teachers’ College, Columbia University.

She and her husband live in Chatham NJ and South Hero VT with their golden retriever, thankful every day for two amazing daughters.
