On September 4th we announced the release of TLP Achieve, the newest addition to The Listening Program® family of evidence-based music solutions.
We all need a practical and effective tool for success, something you can take with you in your busy life. TLP Achieve was created to increase mental performance. It trains the brain with motivating evidence-based music to help people in areas of their lives where performance matters most — family, school, career, and personal endeavors.
TLP Achieve is preloaded on an iPod nano and comes with your choice of high quality headphones or the ABT Bone Conduction Audio System. It is ideal for children, teens, adults, and the elderly who need support or want to increase their abilities in auditory processing, communication, executive function, creative expression, and personal development.
To celebrate the launch of TLP Achieve™ we offered a giveaway with a prize package worth more than $1,500! The prize included; TLP Achieve preloaded on a 16 GB iPod nano with AKG headphones, and 3 months of personal consulting with an ABT Certified Provider of The Listening Program®.
All people had to do to enter the contest is leave a comment on Alex Doman's blog answering the question. What do I want to achieve this fall?
115 people responded by the deadline, with the winner announced on September 10th. We were struck by the diversity of goals that each of you has and wish you all the best in achieving those and more! We chose our winner at random from the comments on that post: congratulations to the winner Cathy Petrie!
We are offering free consultations to help you get started with TLP Achieve. To schedule your consultation please give us a call at 1.801.622.5676, contact your local ABT representative, or complete this form.
Alex Doman was at University of California Irvine earlier this month. He had once again been asked to participate in the third of a series of programs on music, neurology and the genius of Ostad Elahi, master musician and virtuoso of the tambour. ostadelahi.com/
He joined musician, neurologist, and psychiatrist Emmanuel During, and music therapist Tim Ringgold for a panel discussion which was moderated by clinical psychologist and ABT Scientific Advisory Board member, Kamran Fallahpour. That discussion was followed by a musical performance by Emmanuel During on tanbour and Poorya Forgahni on Daf. All three of these programs have sold out, a testament to the extraordinary talent of Ostad Elahi, as well as people's fascination with the subject matter.
Music for the Mind III was hosted by UCI Claire Trevor School of the Arts, UCI Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine, UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Nour Foundation. www.nourfoundation.com/
Scientists at the University of Sheffield have made a major research breakthrough by restoring gerbils' hearing, using human stem cells. The research means that eventually stem cells could potentially be used in humans to help the deaf hear again. This is very promising, especially since in the U.S. alone, more than 30 million suffer from hearing loss.
Read Alex Doman's blog post about this research including his three tips for safe headphone use and more.
We are pleased to share that the Korean edition of Don Campbell and Alex Doman's book Healing at the Speed of Sound® was released this month! The publisher is Peppermint Publishing Corp. ISBN # 978-89-97976-02-7.

Searching for and finding the right information to help your child can be overwhelming for families affected by autism. The Real Help Now Conference was developed to bring the latest information on medical, dietary and legal issues for children with autism, and most importantly, help parents through the often daunting process of determining how to organize and prioritize their intervention efforts. We will be exhibiting there, so please come by and meet Angel Thomson and listen to the new TLP Spectrum™ program!
